Red Clay Pigment Workshop
Taught by Jane Terrazas
Jane’s words, “In response to the environmental impact of the fashion industry, I have embarked on a mission to document an extensive array of natural pigments derived from plants and minerals found in Mexico, my home country. Establishing an archive of these colors serves not only to showcase consumption alternatives but also underscores the future of fashion rooted in conscientious production methods.”
In this workshop you will learn the art of mordants using eucalyptus barks and soy powder, we will explore red clay on different materials such as wool, denim, linen and cotton!
As an exercise we will experiment with cornstarch, make patterns and print on a bandana.
