Gobernadora Dye Workshop
In this workshop you will learn about the art of the pigment extraction of this medicinal plant that lives in our desert, the Gobernadora(Creosote). In this 2 hr journey, we will be focusing on the development of a Creosote vat, pretreating fabric, and dyeing upcycled T-shirts. You will learn upcycling strategies to preserve our world while making beautiful unique clothes and art pieces. The class dives into the extraction of the pigment and play with its chemistry to obtain different tones and colors with the intention of decorating your T-shirt. The goal is to learn, obtain and pass your knowledge to continue the generational value of the preservation of our communities and our environment.
